Celebrations
The kids of Sunshine celebrate with the staff and their caseworkers at a the Annual Sunshine Christmas Party. Festivities include a scrumptious catered meal, games, and fun with Santa. By receiving and sharing, the children experience the true spirit of Christmas.
Each child's birthday is celebrated in every home of Sunshine to mark their special day. By celebrating the gift of life, each child realizes his or her uniqueness in the world and their importance in the Sunshine Family.
Every Hallows Eve the children and staff visit a local amusement park to celebrate Halloween. There are thrilling rides, gospel music, good food, and video games!
"One World - One People"
The goal of the festival is to enable children to develop an awareness & appreciation of other people and other cultures.
Each child's house studies the culture of the country of their choice. Then, we all gather for a day of celebration, dance, music, costumes, skits, & food!
Sunshine kids have an opportunity to learn new skills and enhance old ones at the two-week long summer basketball camp.
On the final day, an awards ceremony and luncheon are held to celebrate their accomplishments.
A staff member took the children for camping in Show Low. While there, they got to experience sleeping in a tent, cooking over a campfire, fishing, kayaking, hiking and swimming.
Sunshine kids travel to sunny California where they spend five days playing on the beach and attending theme parks such as Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studio and Disneyland.
